I am Aldrith Ter'nth Shutaq, Fleet Captain of the Praetoria Imperialis Excubitoris, veteran of the 24th Imperial Crusade, Ni-Kunni, native of Mishi IV, father of two children, and, if it would so please His Majesty, prospective champion for your cause. I hereby announce my support for Artico Kor-Azor to ascend the Imperial throne, and my willingness to fight on his behalf.
Seven years ago I set out to the stars intending to make a simple life as a trader, slipping between the cracks of international politics and upheaval. Yet, not but a week after I had gained my capsuleer license, the Elder Fleet attacked whilst I was docked in Sarum Prime. I witnessed the miracle of Jamyl I's return, but also the curse of war coming to my home, threatening all that I hold sacred and dear. It was in that moment I knew I would not be able to pursue a quiet existence while the enemies of the Empire clawed at our door. As a capsuleer I possessed power, and with that power came the obligation to protect and uplift my fellow man. Thus I did the only thing that I could do as an Empyrean; I dedicated myself to the arts of war our kind are so gifted at in order to better wield that power in the name of justice and His light. I have followed this path ever since in the hopes that one day I would see my home once again prosper without the threat of destruction and chaos looming over it.
A month and a half ago I led the Imperial loyalist fleet that sought to ensure Empress Jamyl I's safety in Safizon. We failed in that duty, and once again I witnessed the possibility for our Empire to be at peace shattered and laid before my feet. Yet I refuse to resign my children to a future of eternal war. This is why I choose to dedicate myself to His Majesty Kor-Azor today.
We have both sinned; he by callousness and myself by ignorance. We have both come to know suffering; he by blade and myself by fire. We have both been made better men by the will of God; he through compassion and myself through resolve. And, God willing, we shall both find redemption; he by leading the Empire to peace, and I by granting him the ability, through the help of the Almighty. While the lessons I have learned cannot compare to the magnitude His Majesty's experiences, surely we share something in our view of the world and the rightful path of the Empire.
As did Heideran VII and Doriam II before, all desire is peace. Today's struggles with our fellow man, both within and without the Empire, must end so that we may stand united against the threat of inhumanity. The heretic Raiders, the twisted True Slaves, the spiteful terrorists, the megalomaniac Empyreans, and now the soulless Drifters are the true enemies of God, and it is time we realize that the lost races are not impediments to defeating them, but allies.
The path to salvation of the heathen is not fear, but love. The path to victory over the Beast is not hatred, but resolve. The path to eternal pace is not wanton conquest, but righteous war. I have fought that war for the past seven years, and I will continue to do so until my work is done or my will is broken. Let this video record be testament to that struggle. Though it may be a mere week's worth of combat footage (I have never before felt the need to showcase the ugly business I participate in), I pray that it will be enough to prove my worth:
